Black Earth History Museum
2024 Season Now Open Sunday Afternoons
1:00 - 4:00 26 May - 29 September or By Appointment

In addition to owning and maintaining the Black Earth History Center at the 100+ year-old former Congregational Church on Blue Mounds Street, the Historical Society also owns, maintains, and operates the Black Earth History Museum in the colorfully-restored 1860s railroad depot on Mills Street. The once-dilapidated depot was accurately renovated and opened as a history museum by the Historical Society in 1993. Our impressive museum features historical displays and artifacts of the greater Black Earth area. Recently, it has undergone an exterior refresh with painting, new roof, and re-landscaping with native plants to benefit pollinators. Displays updated regularly. Come visit us!

Visitor Hours:
1:00 to 4:oo Sundays, Memorial Day Sunday through last Sunday in September or by appointment
