Black Earth History Museum

In addition to owning and maintaining the Black Earth History Center at the 100+ year-old former Congregational Church on Blue Mounds Street, the Historical Society also owns, maintains, and operates a museum in the colorfully-restored 1860s railroad depot on Mills Street. The once-dilapidated depot was accurately renovated and opened as a history museum by the Historical Society in 1993. Our impressive museum features historical displays and artifacts of the greater Black Earth area. Recently, it has undergone a refresh with exterior painting, new roof, and re-landscaping with native plants for pollinators. Come visit us!
